Shirley (Beale) Anderson, daughter of Walter & Beulah (Stambaugh) Beale, was born July 9, 1934 in Shenandoah, IA. She passed away on February 17, 2017 at the Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE.

Shirley was a 1952 graduate of Shenandoah High School. She married Harold Anderson December 4, 1955 in Shenandoah. She worked as a secretary at the Shenandoah schools until the birth of her first son. She & Harold raised four children on the family farm.

Shirley was an active member of the Fremont Covenant Church until its closing; she was currently a member of the Faith Covenant Church of Essex. Shirley was also involved in 4-H. She was a charter member of the Shenandoah Tri-M's, and served on various committees throughout her life. She and Harold were inducted into the Iowa State 4-H Hall of Fame in 2014. They were also awarded the Shenandoah Chamber & Industry Association Farm Family of the Year Award in 2004. Shirley was an avid bridge player for many years.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Beulah Beale, and her son, John Anderson.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Harold Anderson; her children, Steve & Diann Anderson, Brian & Lori Brockman and Bruce Anderson; grandchildren, Daniel Brockman, Travis & Jessica Riesenberg, Megan Brockman & fianc Ryan Hintz, Jonathan Anderson and Scott Brockman; great-grandson Nicolas Riesenberg; brother and sister-in-laws, Gerald & Dorothy Walter and Alfred & Sandy Anderson; and nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life funeral service will be held 2:30 pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Faith Covenant Church in Essex.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5 - 7 pm, Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.

Burial will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
